The SuccessFactors login is the entry point to the HR portal of thousands of companies: payslips, time off, performance reviews, learning and personal data. Most employees get stuck at the same step: the screen asks for a Company ID nobody gave them. This guide explains how to log in to SAP SuccessFactors, how to find your Company ID, what to do if you forget your password and how to activate the mobile app.
What SAP SuccessFactors is
SAP SuccessFactors is SAP’s cloud human capital management (HCM) suite. It includes Employee Central (employee master data), Employee Central Payroll, Performance & Goals, Learning and Recruiting, among others. How to log in to SuccessFactors step by step
- Use your company’s link. Most people sign in from the intranet, the HR portal or the welcome email. That link usually already contains the Company ID, so you don’t have to type it.
- If you use a generic login page, SAP asks for the Company ID first. Enter it and continue.
- Authenticate. If your company uses single sign-on (SSO), you are redirected to your corporate login (for example, your Microsoft account). Otherwise, enter your SuccessFactors username and password.
- Bookmark the page once you are in, so you don’t need the Company ID next time.

What the SuccessFactors Company ID is and how to find it
SAP describes the Company ID as a short string of characters that identifies each SAP SuccessFactors system, similar to a username for your organization (SAP). Everyone in the same company shares it. To find it:
- Look for the SuccessFactors link on your intranet or HR portal: the Company ID is often in the URL, in the
company=parameter. - Check the welcome email with your credentials.
- Ask a colleague: it is the same for the whole company.
- If none of that works, contact your company’s SuccessFactors administrator (usually in HR or IT). SAP does not provide Company IDs to employees.
Why the SuccessFactors login URL differs by company
SAP hosts SuccessFactors in data centers around the world, and the login URL varies by customer and region (KBA 2611051). That is why you see domains such as successfactors.com, successfactors.eu or sapsf.com with different prefixes. If the site suddenly asks for a Company ID when it didn’t before, you are probably using a different URL: go back to your company’s link.
Common SuccessFactors login problems

Note that SAP Support does not manage employee accounts. Passwords, locks and permissions are always handled by your organization’s administrator.
How to activate the SuccessFactors mobile app with a QR code
The SAP SuccessFactors app for iOS and Android is usually activated with a QR code generated in the web version. SAP supports personal and company-wide QR codes (SAP Help). With a personal QR code, the usual steps are:
- Log in to SuccessFactors on your computer.
- Open your profile menu and go to Settings → Mobile.
- Generate the activation QR code.
- On your phone, open the SAP SuccessFactors app, tap “Get Started” and choose QR code activation.
- Scan the code on screen. If your company uses SSO, later logins ask for your corporate credentials.
If you don’t see the Mobile option in Settings, your company has not enabled mobile access for your user or uses another activation method.
